My first experience traveling alone could not have gone smoother. Green Edventures offered a woman-focused great experience: wonderful foods, great sites, friendly and safe, educational and inspiring. I am not well-traveled, but I definitely … More picked the best place to have a first-time experience that left me wanting to travel again. Iceland felt safe. The pace is relaxed. While Reykjavik is definitely the "hot spot" for many tourists, I would challenge people to consider time to explore. The Westfjords was my trip destination and although getting there was time consuming, there was so much to see along the way. I would book another trip with Green Edventures and/or return to Iceland again. Wonderful trip!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip from the moment I met the rest of the group in Cusco until boarding the flight for home 8 days later. … More What an amazing group of women I got to share the week with! Smart, tough, kind, funny women! The trip leader Tracey was very organized to the smallest details and kept things on time and running smoothly. The local guides Guido and Americo shared a wealth of knowledge of the Peruvian people and the amazing places we visited. I’ve been on some amazing adventures and this one rates right up there at the top!

This was my first Green Edventures trip.This was a different trip in that it really felt like we were all part of the team. Our representatives in Quito as well as our local tour guide in the Galapagos could not have been better. We learned so much on this trip. One of the best parts was the delightful personalities of the tour participants and how well we all meshed.
The trip was very well planned. There was a great variety of activities and plenty of breaks interspersed with the activities. I look forward to taking more trips with this company. -

Great excursions and activities. This particular trip, to the … More Galapagos, would hv been a logistical nightmare if I was a lone or couple traveler. So I can appreciate the work that went into securing our all of our buses, boats, ect. Food fantastic, but too much of it. Felt like we were eating all the time. Hotel choices were fine. But the room at our longest stay(5 nights) lacked any windows with no ventilation and was small, while I got to hear from some of the other ppl in our group(one being single occupancy) about how large and great their rooms were. So I feel like the room situation could use some fine tuning. Overall it was a lovely tour and a positive experience.

Lori, Inga and Bergrós, our guides and knitting instructors, … More were so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. The tour materials were detailed and well documented. The tour activities were simply incredible -- I treasure the people, places and experiences my mother-in-law and I got to meet through this trip. It's impossible to pick a favorite event; every day was a wonderful adventure. I can't recommend Green Edventures enough!

Green Edventures offers an excellent travel experience, and they certainly know how to navigate what could be a complex and difficult travel experience for a first-time visitor. Bergros is a top notch designer and creative artist but also a literary historian, nature lover and patient teacher. Inga was a ball of energy, joy and also generous with her personal stories that made us love not just the landscape but the incredible people who come from it. I felt safe and cared about the entire time. The knitting was fantastic and the group open for adventure. Easily one of the best trips of my life.

This was my 4th trip to Africa but my first with Green Edventures and it did not disappoint. We started in Entebbe, Uganda for 12 days with the 2 big highlights being hiking to the Mountain Gorillas. I’m an experienced hiker all over the … More world but this one was one of the most difficult, following our ranger while he was bushwhacking and the gorillas were moving away from us. Fantastic. We got up close finally…fantastic. Then trekking to the Mountain Chimpanzees; unbelievable. Hard to pick a favorite. On day one we found the rare Shoebill Stork. We were gobsmacked. And then saw 2 more at the end of the trip. Experienced an earthquake and saw erupting volcanos across the border in the DRC. Of course we saw the Big 5. Our trip Leader , Lori, was amazing and the 2 guides, Paul and Sam were princes among men. A guide I happen to have a conversation with at one of our lodge’s unsolicited told me Paul is a legend in Uganda, the finest guide in the country. We were honored. Uganda is a very poor nation so you will experience this as you drive through the country and meet the people. The difference between Green Edventures and higher end companies is you drive everywhere, you do not fly internally from lodge to lodge. But your experiences are worth it. There were 9 women on our trip and we all fell in love with each other. Most did not know each other; it’s like we were supposed to be together. Friends for life now. I followed Uganda with Tanzania with Green Edventures. I decided to add Tanzania at the last minute whilst in Uganda and am so happy I did. The cultural experiences we had on this trip were just nothing like you could ever dream about. One in particular, we visited the Hadzabe tribe , a Bushman tribe of hunter gatherers. They lived on wild game and basically tubers the women gathered. We participated in a hunt early in the morning with the younger men….they went small bird hunting with bow and arrows with 9 women from the US running after them. This would make a great movie. I must say this was never on my bucket list but you should add it to yours. We then went on to visit 4 more tribes. Fantastic. Of course we saw the Big 5. In both countries our Land Cruiser/s were charged by Bull Elephants. Quite exciting. Our leader was Lori and our guides Baraza and Vitalis were outstanding. I recommend you do both trips because once you are there you might as well stay. Bang for the buck is huge.

I had the great fortune of experiencing a multiport tour in Iceland in July with Tara and Inga. From the community created, to the dream scapes we witnessed, to all of the laughter and memories made.. each day was well paced and worth … More every penny. We learned about the history, the geology and the culture. We soaked in hot springs and lagoons, kayaked towards the sea, trekked across a glacier, rode horses on the beach and walked behind waterfalls. I came home with my heart, soul and spirit filled to the brim. I traveled by myself and enjoyed my own room while also having warm company. If you are considering doing it, take the leap! Future you will be so grateful. This is a full body experience between the food, the things you get to see and do and the memories you take home ❤️

Being an all women group further added to the magic that took place while we were in Iceland. I can truly say I have never been on a trip like this. Every single one of us walked away friends and with a bond that will last for a very long time.
One of the best things of this trip that it wasn't just knitting. We visited hot springs, farms, yarn stores, and parks as well along with stories and histories of the island. It was a perfect balance of activities and knitting.

We even got into the Arctic ocean after learning how to breathe and how to do it from our Icelandic guide, Inga. Inga and the company owner, Tara, created my perfect trip! I've been dreaming of going there for many years and it far exceeded my expectations. I made some friends with whom I know I will stay in touch. This country is the most scenic, beautiful landscape I've ever seen. The people are friendly, the cities and country are very clean, the water taste better than any water you can get anywhere else, and they even have gas station ice cream that beats anything I get in an ice cream shop here!
